Playfully Wild! combines whole-child development and environmental literacy to create a high-quality nature preschool aged program unlike anything else in the Endicott area. Children will develop a lifelong connection to nature, become part of a community of friends, and encounter new and challenging ideas every day. And because you remain with your child, you don’t miss a moment of the fun.

Countless studies confirm the same thing: children in forest school develop stronger resiliency, self-confidence, and better well-being than children in typical preschool programs. Children practice risk assessment, develop balance and agility, problem solve, and more all through play in a wall-less classroom. This allows your child to grow their self-regulation skills in a natural and healthy way.

Forest School is unique in that your child essentially writes OUR lesson plans. Traditionally, preschools have an agenda for learning goals and lesson plans. At The Moss House, we honor your child’s natural curiosity and trust the developmental process while guiding your child to follow their interests. We offer guided activities in line with the seasons, but happily take detours and allow your child to take the lead in their learning.

Every day in the forest brings new challenges and ideas. While children will enjoy the freedom to follow their curiosities, they can also choose from a variety of exciting and inspiring activities and projects each visit. Building a working model of a creek, learning to identify bird calls and mimicking them, roasting apples, and making mud faces on trees and rocks are all ways we engage your child to learn more about themselves and the world around them in order to encourage free thinking and naturally curious children.
